Terms
Terms of Use
Last updated: August 15, 2026.
These Terms govern access to SourceSeal, including sealing media, publishing verification pages, connecting social accounts, commenting, rating, reporting, downloading files, and using analytics. By creating an account, uploading media, or using SourceSeal, you agree to these Terms.
These Terms are a practical starter version for the current product and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before launch, paid plans, identity verification, ads, or enterprise contracts go live.
What SourceSeal does
SourceSeal creates visible seals for photos and videos and connects those seals to verification pages. The service can help viewers trace a sealed media item back to a source profile, review the source's public history, see AI-use declarations, and evaluate community context. SourceSeal does not guarantee that media is true, complete, lawful, unedited, or free from deception. Verification pages are context tools, not final truth determinations.
Your account
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account, including uploads, comments, ratings, connected accounts, and downloads.
- You may not impersonate another person, organization, creator, publisher, government agency, or platform.
- SourceSeal may require email verification, additional review, identity checks, or connected-account verification before enabling certain features or badges.
Your media and license to SourceSeal
You keep ownership of media and content you upload, subject to any rights held by others. By uploading, sealing, publishing, or commenting, you grant SourceSeal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transform, watermark/seal, thumbnail, display, transmit, analyze, moderate, and store that content as needed to operate, secure, promote, and improve the service.
You represent that you have all rights, permissions, licenses, and consents needed to upload, seal, publish, describe, and distribute the media. This includes rights related to copyright, privacy, publicity, trademarks, confidential information, location data, minors, workplaces, clients, and people appearing in the media.
AI-use declarations and source claims
AI-use declarations, titles, descriptions, comments, and source profile information must be honest to the best of your knowledge. You may not intentionally mislabel AI-generated, AI-edited, staged, synthetic, manipulated, or misleading media as genuine. Once a declaration is locked, SourceSeal may preserve it as part of the verification history.
Community ratings, comments, and reports
Ratings and comments should be evidence-based and focused on the media, source, AI use, manipulation, misinformation, or trust context. You may not use the community tools for harassment, spam, coordinated abuse, threats, doxxing, extortion, defamation, or unrelated disputes. SourceSeal may remove content, limit features, down-rank reputation signals, or suspend accounts that misuse community tools.
Prohibited content and activity
- Illegal content, non-consensual intimate content, child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation, terrorist or extremist material, credible threats, or content that encourages real-world harm.
- Media uploaded without the required rights, permissions, or consent.
- Malware, phishing, credential theft, scraping, automated abuse, spam, botting, security probing, or attempts to bypass rate limits, moderation, storage controls, or payment systems.
- False verification claims, impersonation, deceptive badges, forged seal codes, attempts to confuse viewers about the source, or tampering with SourceSeal metadata.
- Activity that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contract, employment, platform, or regulatory obligations.
Connected accounts
If you connect YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram, Facebook, or another external account, you authorize SourceSeal to request the limited permissions shown during that provider's authorization flow and to display the verified connection on your source profile when enabled. You are responsible for complying with the third-party provider's terms. SourceSeal may remove or re-check a connection if tokens expire, the provider changes its rules, the account no longer appears controlled by you, or abuse is suspected.
Plans, payments, and paid features
SourceSeal may offer free, creator, organization, verification, storage, analytics, advertising, or identity-related features. Prices, limits, eligibility, and plan benefits may change. Paid features are not guaranteed until payment is accepted and any required verification is approved. Separate order forms, enterprise agreements, or plan terms may apply.
Downloads, storage, and availability
SourceSeal may store originals, sealed originals, previews, thumbnails, and integrity records depending on the user's plan and settings. Do not treat SourceSeal as your only backup. The service may be unavailable, delayed, rate-limited, or changed because of maintenance, processing failures, abuse prevention, third-party outages, content review, or infrastructure limits.
Moderation and enforcement
SourceSeal may review, remove, hide, label, restrict, or preserve content and account records when necessary to operate the service, protect users, comply with law, respond to reports, investigate abuse, enforce these Terms, or protect SourceSeal's rights. SourceSeal may suspend or terminate accounts, revoke badges, disconnect external accounts, disable downloads, or block access to specific media.
Disclaimers
SourceSeal is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, SourceSeal disclaims warranties of accuracy, authenticity, non-infringement, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, and error-free service. SourceSeal does not promise that every sealed media item is genuine, that every unsealed item is false, or that all community ratings are accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SourceSeal and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, reputational harm, business interruption, platform removals, or third-party claims arising from use of the service.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold SourceSeal harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your uploads, public claims, AI-use declarations, comments, ratings, connected accounts, misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, or violation of another person's rights.
Changes and termination
SourceSeal may change the service or these Terms over time. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. You may stop using the service at any time, and SourceSeal may suspend or terminate access as described above.
