SourceSeal works best when uploads, AI-use declarations, ratings, reports, and comments give viewers useful context without turning verification pages into harassment, spam, or personal attacks.

Upload only media you have the right to use

• Use SourceSeal for media you created, own, licensed, or are otherwise allowed to publish and seal.
• Get consent when privacy, workplace, client, minor, location, publicity, or confidentiality concerns apply.
• Do not upload non-consensual intimate content, child exploitation material, illegal content, credible threats, or content meant to facilitate real-world harm.

Be honest about AI use

• Choose the AI-use declaration that best matches the media.
• Explain meaningful AI edits, synthetic elements, staged scenes, generated audio, generated visuals, or misleading alterations.
• Do not change your story to avoid accountability after viewers, platforms, clients, or the public have relied on the original declaration.

Good ratings and comments

• Focus on evidence: source history, metadata, timestamps, visible edits, inconsistencies, captions, context, or credible outside information.
• Use the middle-ground option when content appears partly genuine but has context, editing, AI, caption, or sourcing issues.
• Reference specific moments in videos when helpful so other viewers can check the same issue.
• Disagree with the claim or evidence without attacking the person.

Not allowed

• Harassment, threats, hate, doxxing, spam, scams, sexual exploitation, impersonation, or coordinated abuse.
• Knowingly false reports, revenge ratings, brigading, fake accounts, vote manipulation, or attempts to damage a source without evidence.
• Posting private information, confidential files, credentials, addresses, sensitive personal data, or copyrighted material you do not have permission to share.
• Trying to forge SourceSeal seals, confuse viewers about source identity, bypass moderation, scrape the service, or interfere with analytics.

Moderation

SourceSeal may remove comments, hide media, add labels, lock threads, limit ratings, revoke badges, disconnect accounts, or suspend users when content or behavior undermines the service. Repeated or serious violations may lead to permanent removal. SourceSeal may also preserve records needed to investigate abuse, protect users, comply with law, or defend the service.

Reporting and appeals

Use reporting tools when a media item, comment, rating, or source profile appears misleading, abusive, illegal, or unsafe. If your content is restricted and you believe the decision was wrong, contact SourceSeal with the seal code, account email, and a clear explanation.
