SourceSeal helps creators attach visible verification seals to photos and videos and gives viewers a source page where they can review the media, source profile, AI-use declaration, public reputation signals, comments, and verification activity. This policy explains what information SourceSeal collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.

This policy is written for the product as implemented today. It should be reviewed by qualified counsel before public launch, especially before paid plans, identity verification, advertising, or expanded analytics are enabled.

Information we collect

• Account information: name or display name, email address, public handle, profile bio, password credentials handled by the authentication system, and account settings.
• Media and source information: uploaded photos or videos, sealed copies, thumbnails, previews, titles, descriptions, seal codes, AI-use declarations, timestamps, hashes, moderation signals, and verification page metadata.
• Connected account information: when you connect services such as YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram, or Facebook, SourceSeal may store the public account identity, profile URL, provider identifiers, verification status, token expiration information, and encrypted access or refresh tokens needed to keep the connection current.
• Verification and analytics information: scan/view timestamps, media IDs, requested video timestamps, referrer information, approximate browser/device information, and privacy-preserving visitor identifiers used to count views and reduce duplicate or owner-generated analytics.
• Community activity: comments, replies, media ratings, source ratings, reports, moderation decisions, and related timestamps.
• Support and administrative information: messages you send to SourceSeal, plan or verification requests, approval history, and operational logs used to maintain the service.

How we use information

• To create sealed media, verification pages, scan previews, and public source profiles.
• To show viewers the source, connected accounts, AI-use declaration, reputation history, comments, and verification context for a sealed media item.
• To provide account-level and media-level analytics such as total views, daily verification views, top media, timestamps, and referring sources.
• To authenticate users, verify emails, connect external accounts, prevent abuse, investigate reports, and enforce the Terms and Community Guidelines.
• To improve security, diagnose failures, measure reliability, and maintain backups or audit records.
• To communicate with users about account activity, verification requests, security notices, support, and product updates.

What is public

SourceSeal is built around public verification. Media you publish, source profile details, connected accounts you choose to display, seal codes, AI-use declarations, ratings, comments, and public reputation signals may be visible to anyone who visits a verification page or source page. Do not upload or publish media you are not allowed to share or that you are not comfortable associating with your public source profile.

Service providers and integrations

SourceSeal may use service providers for hosting, object storage, content delivery, email delivery, content moderation, analytics, security, payment processing, identity verification, and connected-account authentication. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to SourceSeal. If you connect a third-party account, that provider's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your use of that connection.

Cookies and similar technology

SourceSeal may use cookies or similar technology for sign-in sessions, anti-forgery protection, security, preferences, fraud prevention, and analytics. Browser settings may allow you to block some cookies, but core account features may stop working if required cookies are disabled.

Retention

SourceSeal keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain verification history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and preserve audit records. Deleting public media or closing an account may not immediately remove backups, logs, moderation records, comments already involved in disputes, or records SourceSeal must retain for security, legal, or operational reasons.

Security

SourceSeal uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect account, media, and connection data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security. Users are responsible for keeping passwords safe, protecting connected accounts, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

User choices

• You can update your profile, media visibility, media titles and descriptions, and connected accounts from your account pages.
• You can request deletion of your account or specific media, subject to retention needed for legal, security, dispute, abuse-prevention, and audit purposes.
• You can disconnect external accounts. Disconnecting removes the active connection from your profile but may not remove historical verification or moderation records.
• You can opt out of non-essential promotional email by using unsubscribe instructions when provided. Transactional and security messages may still be sent.

Children

SourceSeal is not intended for children under 13. Users should not create accounts or upload media on behalf of children unless they have the legal right to do so and have considered privacy, consent, and safety obligations.

State, regional, and international rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of personal information. SourceSeal will handle verified privacy requests according to applicable law. Additional notices may be added as the service expands to jurisdictions with specific requirements.

Changes to this policy

SourceSeal may update this policy as the product, laws, or business practices change. Material updates will be posted on this page, and continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated policy.
